| Ken Rhodes lived in Europe during much of the 1970s,
working for three years as a rehearsal pianist for the Augsburg Opera in Germany and for
two years as a house musician for the Nuremberg Drama Theaters. In 1974 he recorded this
trio album for my Amayana label.
Ken also worked with the Bavarian Radio Big Band, Dusko Goykovich, Benny Bailey,
Sal Nestico and the Al Porcino Big Band in addition to writing the music for two successful
cabaret musicals. I also produced a Big Band album with him which was published on CD recently
and will be available on vinyl as well soon.

hipsy off-beats and Brazilian flair that reminds of some 70s CARLA BLEY works - highly recommended
for fans of European progjazz and cool RARE GROOVE stuff

| Founded in 1960, the Revival Jazzband Prague won the Prague Pop & Jazzfestival in 1964
and played on festivals in Vienna, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Zurich. In 1968 the band went professional and since 1972 resides in
Switzerland. Zdenek Kucera about his band: "Our formation differs in essential points from other bands. We try to avoid the usual
cliches and not merely copy the solos of established musicians. We prefer to play our own solos, and vocals take an important
place in our repertoire."

A fine German fusion band from the late 1970s playing a typical Eurofusion
with melodic wind lines (generally supplied by sax with some flute), some good deep grooves and acidy guitar solos.
The group strives for its own specific musical expression. Rock, Swing and the incorporation of Latin-American
rhythms gives the group its special "feeling". The vitality of its improvisations aims at the detection and conveyance of the utmost
personal emotions. The improvisation is carried out in a modal way by sequences of harmonies or in free, spontanuous cooperation.
